Lead Robotics Engineer

Humanoids, Mechatronics & Industrial Automation | USA

We’re supporting a technology consultancy delivering robotics and automation projects for industrial clients.

They’re looking for a hands-on Lead Robotics Engineer with a strong background in humanoid robotics and mechatronics to guide development across mechanical, electrical and software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of robotic systems, with a focus on humanoids and complex electromechanical platforms.

  • Work across actuators, sensors, embedded systems and control software to deliver reliable robot behaviour.

  • Develop and refine motion control, kinematics and whole-body coordination.

  • Guide prototyping, hardware bring-up, testing and troubleshooting on physical robots.

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to move systems from simulation into real-world operation.

  • Mentor engineers and act as a technical point of contact for clients.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience in humanoid robotics, mechatronics or complex articulated robotic systems.

  • Experience leading engineering projects while remaining involved in technical delivery.

  • Practical understanding of actuation, sensing, dynamics and feedback control.

  • Strong C++ and/or Python skills, with experience using ROS or ROS 2.

  • Experience integrating hardware and software, diagnosing system-level issues and validating robot performance.

  • Familiarity with simulation tools and transferring control approaches onto physical hardware.

  • Comfortable working with clients and travelling to support project delivery.
